Say Something

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, Dean Meadows, campus minister from Blacksburg Church of Christ, delivered a compelling sermon titled "Say Something" based on Psalm 107:1-3. Dean shared a personal childhood story of disobedience involving a golf cart, illustrating how his father showed him grace despite his mistake. This narrative set the stage for the sermon's central message: God's steadfast love and grace compel those who are redeemed to share their faith with others.

 

Dean emphasized that God's love is unwavering and enduring, unlike human love, which can be transactional and conditional. He highlighted Israel's history of failure and God's persistent mercy, encouraging believers to reflect God's steadfast love by actively sharing the gospel. The sermon challenged the congregation to speak about their faith to at least one person in the coming week, drawing from examples in Acts where redeemed individuals boldly proclaimed their faith. Dean concluded with a story of a student named Brayden, whose journey from atheism to Christianity underscored the impact of persistent, faith-driven conversations.
