Bible Class - The Book of Mark Conclusion

David and Goliath

Out of The Wicked Comes Wickedness

On January 21, 2024, Cole Tuck delivered a sermon as part of his series "A Man After God’s Own Heart" titled "Out of The Wicked Comes Wickedness," based on 1 Samuel 24:13.

David Under Pressure

David and God's House

On February 4, 2024, Cole Tuck delivered a sermon titled "David and God’s House" as part of his series "A Man After God’s Own Heart." David, having completed his own palace, sees the Ark of the Lord housed in a tent and is struck with the idea of building a permanent dwelling for God. However, Nathan receives a correction from God that night, and he returns to David with a revised message. Through Nathan, God conveys that it is not David who will build a house for God, but rather, God who will build a house for David. This revelation signifies that David's vision for a temple is not in alignment with God's ultimate plan.

The sermon emphasizes the significance of understanding the type of "house" God intends to build for David, which surpasses the temple David seeks to construct for God. It underscores the importance of listening to God's word and aligning one's intentions with His plan.

David and Bathsheba

 

On Sunday, February 11, 2024, Cole Tuck continued his series "A Man After God’s Own Heart" with a sermon titled "David and Bathsheba." Bathsheba, whose name means "daughter of the oath," was the wife of Uriah the Hittite and later became the wife of King David, as depicted in the Hebrew Bible. She was also the mother of Solomon, who succeeded David as king, granting her the title of Gebirah, or queen mother. Bathsheba is most famously known for the biblical narrative where King David, upon seeing her bathing, succumbs to lust and summons her. Tuck's sermon likely delved into the complexities of this narrative, exploring themes of temptation, moral failing, and the consequences of sinful actions. Through this story, Tuck may have aimed to impart lessons on the importance of integrity, accountability, and seeking forgiveness in one's journey towards being a person after God's heart.

Amnon and Tamar
